Upon your arrival at Leh, our representative will extend a warm Ladakhi welcome and assist you in transferring to your hotel. Leh, perched at a high altitude, welcomes you with its stunning vistas and unique cultural charm. Take this day to acclimatize to the altitude and immerse yourself in the serene ambiance of this Himalayan town. Afternoon, drive to visit Shanti Stupa & Leh Palace. In the evening, explore the local market, where you can find traditional handicrafts, souvenirs, and delightful local cuisine.
Tour of Hemis, Thiksey & Shey Monastery
After a hearty breakfast, set out to explore the spiritual and cultural heritage of Ladakh. Your first destination is Hemis Monastery, a hidden gem situated 45 kilometers west of Leh. Hemis is renowned as the largest and wealthiest monastery in Ladakh. Continue your journey to Thiksey Monastery, perched on a hill with panoramic views of the Indus Valley. Thiksey is famous for its colossal seated statue of the Maitreya Buddha and its assembly hall filled with sacred texts. Afterward, visit Shey Palace, the former summer retreat of Ladakh's kings. After breakfast, head to Diskit Monastery, a 515-year-old treasure perched atop a hill, offering panoramic valley views. Stroll through the charming Diskit town with its small village market and a towering Buddha Statue. Continue your journey to Samsthaling, Panamik, and Yaraptso Lake, offering breathtaking views of the Karakoram Himalayan Range. Samsthaling was a crucial stop for trade caravans in the past, and Panamik was the last major settlement on their route. Return to Leh, crossing Khardungla Pass once again.
